Santa Claus is one of the predominant figures that characterize the most magical time of the year. A nice chubby old gentleman with reddish cheeks, long white beard, all dressed in red traveling on a reindeer sleigh. Able to make you dream and still believe in fairy tales especially the children to whom gifts were delivered during the night of Christmas Eve, today it has infected me so much that I want it to be for you.
The legend of Santa Claus
The myth of Santa Claus, as we know him today, actually comes from the legend of St. Nicholas that is celebrated on December 6th and to tell the truth has little romantic as much as something grotesque. St. Nicholas was a really existent bishop told that he gave a gift to three poor girls so they could go to brides instead of prostitution and saved three children from innkeepers who wanted to serve them for dinner. Here, these episodes, from the Middle Ages, have become a tradition of exchanging presents on the saint’s day. Over the years, in Protestant countries and especially in America, thanks to a poem by Clement C. Moore (A Visit from St. Nicholas), St. Nicholas definitively lost the appearance of bishop becoming Santa Claus, the big grandfather we all know, and festivities were moved to 24 and 25 December.
Santa Claus has a gift a little Snobber for you
Regardless of truth and legends I want to believe in Christmas and its atmosphere, I want to be “Santa Snobber” for a day. If you believe in fairy tales and you like to dream then you can try to believe it with me. That’s why today, just a step away from the holidays, I’ll give you a little themed gift. Surely nothing exciting or desirable but in my small way I know that sometimes I like to thank you and pamper you as I can. I personally created these graphics for my readers and I hope you can use them, even just to feed the fire of your fireplace is fine. At least I was with you a little more, I was present on your Christmas and my best wishes have somehow arrived with my logo in Santa Claus dress a little Snobber. Why instill, believe in a myth, but what harm can it do?
